I’m so glad trouble don’t last always

Time goes by, I wanna rise up
And I know why things change
And I know why I stay the same

I’m so glad trouble don’t last always is scene frozen in time in a freeze frame that freezes the
moment eternally. Likewise, this process of temporal undoing, mirrors its production. When
shaping ceramics, one stands still for hours on end to shape volumes and details. The ephemeral image of the immersion of the horse and cowboy has expanded, expanding in time to enter an infinite dimension. It refers to the scenario of a fantastic story that goes beyond the symbol of the urn and is allowed to be personally developed through affective relationship.

But nothing fades like the light

Time goes by, I wanna rise up
And I know why things change
And I know why I stay the same

Some say I should learn to cry
But I only learned how to fight
And I know everything must die

But nothing fades like the light
No, nothing fades like the light

Biography

Stefania Carlotti

Stefania Carlotti (b. 1994, Carpi) lives and works in Lausanne.

In 2019 she obtained a MA in Visual Arts from ECAL, Lausanne, and a BA in Visual Arts from NABA, Milan, in 2016.

Her work is the result of a combination of memories, fantasy and ordinary life from which she takes objects and situations, appropriating them through reproduction; as an attempt to rationalise her place in the world and to give meaning to her existence.

Her work was presented in several exhibitions, including VITA-MINE, Sonnenstube, Lugano(2022); PARAPHERNALIA Before the fire, Forde, Geneva; Primary Domain, Ordet, Milan (2021); A Beautiful Life, Wallstreet, Fribourg (2021); Lemaniana. Reflections on other scenes, Centre d’Art Contemporain, Ginevra (2021); Hablitzel | Göhner Kunstpreis, Kunsthaus Langenthal (2021); Grand miniature, Sentiment, Zürich (2020); Usefulles, Galerie Crèvecœur, Paris; Garantie, Wishing Well, Lausanne (2019); and Ending Explained and DOC!, Paris (2018).

Carlotti is the founder, together with Margaux Dewarrat, of 13 Vitrine, a showcase exhibition space inaugurated in 2021 in Renens.
